Our recent partnership with The Hummingbird House Foundation to renovate playrooms at the Wendy Fitzwilliam Paediatric Hospital in Mount Hope exemplifies our commitment to social sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
A Partnership with Purpose
When The Hummingbird House Foundation approached us about the lack of comfortable spaces for children and babies living in the wards of the Wendy Fitzwilliam Paediatric Hospital, we did not hesitate to offer our support. We recognised the need for a warm and welcoming environment where children could express their creativity, foster learning, and socialise during their stay at the hospital.
Transforming Spaces for Healing
As the Executive Manager of Marketing at Angostura, I am proud to share that our financial support enabled the Foundation to convert the waiting room into a vibrant children’s playroom. The funds donated by Angostura were used to re-paint walls, install moldings, scrub and polish floors, and install appliances and furniture. The renovation resulted in not just one, but two refurbished playrooms on the Surgical and Paediatrics Medical One Wards.
A Sanctuary of Joy
These newly renovated playrooms are now sanctuaries of happiness and healing. Within these colourful and inviting spaces, children will discover shelves stacked with books and toys, transporting them to far-off lands and sparking their creativity. The transformation has created an environment where children can find joy and solace, making their hospital stay a little brighter.
Collaboration and Community Impact
The President of The Hummingbird House Foundation, Alexandria Bachan, beautifully captured the essence of our collaboration, stating, “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot – but together we all can do great things.” This project is a testament to the power of collaboration and the significant impact we can make when we work together towards a common goal.
